Breast Fat Transfer In Gainesville, FL

Also referred to as breast augmentation, breast fat transfer is a cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the natural shape of women’s breasts. This procedure uses a treatment known as fat grafting to obtain natural body fat and inject it into the breasts.

Whether you’re looking to restore breast volume lost due to pregnancy, weight loss, or aging, Dr. David Mateo de Acosta can help you achieve your desired results. Contact us today for more information or to schedule a consultation!

What Is Breast Fat Transfer?

Unlike silicone implants, breast fat transfer uses the body’s own tissue to enhance their cup size. During breast fat transfer, fat is carefully removed from the abdomen or thighs through liposuction. The harvested fat cells are then purified and transferred to the breasts via injection, for a rounder, fuller appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Breast Fat Transfer

Ideal candidates for breast augmentation include:

  • Patients who are not currently breastfeeding and have stopped at least four months prior to the procedure
  • Patients who want to increase their breast size by one cup
  • Patients who want to restore breast volume lost due to pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or aging
  • Patients who would like to improve their breast symmetry
  • Patients in good health who have realistic expectations for the procedure

On the day of your procedure, you will arrive at our AAAASF-certified outpatient surgical facility for treatment. Patients are able to return home the same day following the procedure.

For patient comfort, the surgery will be performed under local or general anesthetic. Dr. David Mateo de Acosta will create surgical markings on the chosen donor and transfer sites. These markings will serve as a guide.

At the donor site, Dr. Mateo will use liposuction to carefully remove fat from the stomach, buttocks, hips, or thighs. This fat is then purified and cleared of blood, oil, and other contaminants. Once this process is complete, the purified fat cells are injected into the breasts to increase cup size and volume. This surgery takes an average of 2 hours to complete.

For the first couple of weeks after your breast fat transfer, you may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort. We recommend patients consistently wear their surgical bra after the procedure to minimize swelling and promote successful healing.

Patients will have their first follow-up appointment with Dr. David Mateo de Acosta within 10 days after their procedure.
